Committees
Labor-Management Committee (no less than 3, no more than 5 members): meets quarterly to discuss employee concerns and matters affecting relations between the parties, including training and development, new technology, methods of operation and work processes, health and safety, and other matters. This committee is essential for raising issues that cannot be addressed via the grievance process, or other evolving matters like return to office enforcement.
Safety Committee (three members): meets quarterly to “ensure safe working conditions, investigate safety complaints, evaluate and review emergency response plans and make recommendations to INDG”
Fair Employment Committee (at least five members): meets at least quarterly to make recommendations to the Guild and to INDG to effectuate the purposes of the anti-discrimination protections in the contract. The standing committee may make recommendations to the Guild and INDG for the establishment of programs to upgrade employee skills and knowledge as preparation for job advancement.
Health Care Committee (four members): contract authorizes committee to study health care benefits and sets no requirements on frequency of meetings. This committee will be essential for monitoring changes to out of pocket cost caps and the transition for retiree health plans.
Testing Committee (three members): meets to confer on new tests and testing procedures implemented by company. No set frequency of meetings.
Work and Family Committee (four members): meets to study issues pertaining to work and family, including ways of assisting employees regarding the provision of care for their children and for their elderly and/or ill parents. No set frequency of meetings. This committee should be a vehicle for raising concerns about RTO flexibility and child care, back up child care coverage, access to pumping areas at work, among other issues.
